BIG News about the Exact Match Domain (EMD) Algorithm update by Google today was that a sneaky Panda bear was released into the wild at around the same time as the EMD Algo got released. A fairly significant Panda update started on the 27th, which was only 2 days before the EMD Algo update hit. This Panda update was said to affect 2.4% on the english text websites and we can assume that since it was part of the Panda series, it was targeting Low Quality content and sites in general.
