Often Internet Marketers overlook classified ads as a way to build a customer base, drive traffic and build passive backlinks. Most are either focused on other avenues such as Search Engine Ranking for Organic traffic, delve into keyword competition on PPC ads.
On the other side of the stick you have those that search classified ads. I category them as frugal shoppers who are looking for a deal or more to the point a better targeted result in their searches. There has been a significant increase of classified users here recently and I believe it is due to Google's messed up search results as in the case after the last few updates. People have been finding it difficult to get targeted results in Google which tends to spit out Wikepedia and about.com results on page one.
